Import and Review a Pay Register
Prepare CSV, JSON or PDF source data and reconcile a single payroll run before accounting.
How-toFor Business owners, Bookkeepers, Firm staff
Use Current-Run Totals
- Import one company and one pay run at a time, with one row per employee. Combine split earnings rows before import.
- Use stable employee IDs, employee names, gross pay, employee taxes, deductions, employer taxes and net pay including reimbursements. Enter 0 when an amount is zero.
- Use current-run amounts rather than year-to-date totals. Dates in report columns must agree with the selected run.
- Include regular, overtime and other hours. Demographic fields and pay component detail are retained when supplied.
- If individual earning, tax or deduction components are included, include the complete breakdown for that category so the components reconcile to its total. Correct the source or use the category total alone when a complete breakdown is unavailable.
Check the Preview
The preview shows standardized employee lines and totals. Open an employee row to inspect supplied demographics and individual pay components. Gross pay plus reimbursements less employee taxes and deductions must equal net pay. Correct differences in the editable data and preview again before saving.
After saving, open the pay register, compare it to the source, and mark the register reviewed. A reviewed register can prepare accounting entries and appears in Hours and Costs.
Extract a Saved Report
Saved payroll PDFs and images can be extracted into the standard format. Extraction is limited to 10 MB and 30 pages. Review the extracted employee data and control totals against the original; correct the editable data before saving. The saved register retains a link to its source document.
